Hohner Heritage

Mathias Hohner began building accordions in Germany in 1903 to a very high standard of quality. Through consistent dedication to quality Hohner became the market leaders in accordions and harmonicas with a worldwide network of artists from beginners to professional players. Hohner instruments have strongly influenced the development of blues and played a significant role in the ongoing evolution of, among other genres, Jazz, Celtic and Folk music, and have found their place comfortably on the classical concert stage. Throughout the decades most accordions continued to be manufactured in the Germany. In more recent time however and to keep up with global markets and to be able compete favourably on the world stage Hohner made the decision to move the manufacturing of some of its models to China. Hohner shipped their factory tooling and machinery to China and have successfully been producing accordions to the high standard and quality their customers have come to expect. Along with new added new silent key, robust and lightweight technology, Hohner have developed and patented a new modular bass mechanism. This technology combines maximum playability and reliability with lightweight design and is easily serviced by any experienced technician. We believe with all this, Hohner accordions represent great value for money. Hohner’s confidence in their manufacturing quality is such that they offer a complete 3 year warranty on their accordions!
